About
EPRD is a form of local government authorized under state law and created to perform a specific purpose. In our case, that purpose is to serve the park and recreation needs of our constituents. We are not part of Jefferson County government. We are a separate entity with our own taxing authority. All tax revenue and other funds we collect go to serve our park and recreation needs.
The Evergreen Park & Recreation District was authorized in January 1969 by a vote of the residents of the area. Today, EPRD serves approximately 23,000 people residing within the District boundaries. We manage and oversee two Recreation Centers, the Evergreen Lake House, and a number of parks in the Evergreen area.
