San Francisco-based Rothy’s is a sustainable lifestyle brand co-founded in June 2016 by Stephen Hawthornthwaite and Roth Martin. Rothy’s flats are made from recycled plastic bottles once destined for the landfill. Knit by machine and crafted by hand, our shoes are seamlessly constructed using a 3D knitting process that significantly reduces waste. Because at Rothy’s, we believe doing good should look good, too.
Why We're Green
At Rothy’s, our mission is to create a new kind of shoe for women: one that is versatile, chic and durable. And we want to do it right, with as little waste and impact to the environment as possible. We designed our innovative knitting process with sustainability in mind. From the materials we use to the carbon we offset to the shoes we ultimately recycle, we constantly strive to reduce our footprint and make positive change in our wasteful industry.
We are proud to be a certified SF Green Business. Since we have implemented our Green Business initiatives our office has shown a deeper camaraderie in protecting our environment and has built a deeper bond among our employees.
