Harley-Davidson Financial Services (HDFS) offers a complete line of financing options and insurance products to help build committed riders. The HDFS Carson City office is comprised of 250 office employees who help preserve our planet through a variety of eco-friendly activities that help support a sustainable workplace. The office’s Green Team is a dedicated group of employees who lead the way through the planning, hosting, and attending sustainability events including but not limited to Earth Day celebrations, trail-building and clean-up activities, watershed rehabilitation and tree planting projects in conjunction with The Nature Conservancy. The team is dedicated to zero waste to landfill and reducing natural resource consumption, all of which is supported by single-stream recycling promotion and education.
Why We're Green
Harley-Davidson’s sustainability vision is to “Preserve and Renew the Freedom to Ride.” Our company objective – to grow our business without growing our environmental impact – guides the development of actions to reduce the environmental impact of our products and operations. At Harley-Davidson, sustainability is inclusive of all we do to ensure a sustainable future for the company, from our environmental and social impact to how we govern the business.
“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized as a company that is at the forefront of this statewide effort,” said Al Ely, VP of commercial at HDFS. “The green business certification program is consistent with Harley-Davidson’s desire to grow our business without growing our environmental impact, and this certification demonstrates HDFS’ commitment to help achieve that goal.”
“While achieving the certification was a concerted effort, it was comprised of many small efforts that really can make a big difference for the environment, and our hope is that these efforts are contagious,” Ely added. “We want to help grow and generate awareness of environmental opportunities across the state; and believe that by showing how it can be done it will propel the entire community forward.”
